Cookie Policy
This De Keyser Webdesign website uses a limited number of cookies and similar techniques (such as local storage in your browser). Below we explain what these are, what we use them for, and how you can manage your preferences.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. Some data is stored not as a cookie but as ‘local storage’ in your browser — functionally this works the same way: the data stays on your device until you clear it yourself or your browser settings do.
2. Which cookies and storage do we use?
We deliberately keep this to a minimum. At the moment we use:
- dkw-theme (local storage, necessary/functional) — remembers whether you view the website in light or dark mode. Kept until you change it or clear your browser data.
- dkw-locale (local storage, necessary/functional) — remembers your language choice (Dutch/English). Kept until you change it or clear your browser data.
- dkw-cookie-consent (local storage, necessary/functional) — remembers your cookie preferences, so we don't have to show the cookie banner again on every visit. Kept for 12 months.
3. Analytics and marketing cookies
We do not currently use analytics cookies (e.g. visitor statistics) or marketing cookies (e.g. advertising tracking) on this website. Should we add these in the future, we will first ask your explicit consent via the cookie banner, and you will be able to withdraw it at any time via the cookie preferences link in the footer.
4. Categories used in the cookie banner
- Necessary — required for the website to function (e.g. language and theme preference, and remembering your cookie choice). Cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — would help us understand how visitors use the website. Currently inactive; off by default.
- Marketing — would be used for personalised advertising. Currently inactive; off by default.
5. Managing your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the ‘Cookie preferences’ button in the footer of every page. You can also always remove cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
